<FONT face="Times New Roman, Times, serif" size=1>What are the differences between a 90-92 hatch/notch(doesnt matter) 4 cyl auto as compared to the 5.0 manual..besides the obvious.......Im just wondering if i could get a cheap 4cyl auto and drop a 351....TKO...and a new rearend with no problems??? Can I??Major suspention differences?....do they have the sameframe types??? Can it handle it??? Will they fit???Sorry about the stupid questions but i have no clue and im sure you guys could save me a lot of time.....THANKS</FONT></P>

yes your idea will work. there is a difference in the floor pans of a notch and hatch. but the suspensions are
the same. good luck. and remember with a 351 you need convertiable motor mounts so it sits lower that way it doesnt hit the hood.

You'll also either need to go Carb or figure something out about wiring, I don't think they're the same (but I could be wrong).

yea you can run the 351 as fuel injected its all in the intake. you will have to run a different lower intake

Yes but the 4-banger eec is different, is it not? And the wiring harness. He'll have to swap the engine and the complete harness. and tranny, rear end, fuel pump?

lol...my car was origianally a 4 banger then someone dropped a 5.0 in it...and i dont think the people who did this changed anything cuz its still gotta 4 banger rear end..which sucks for me <IMG src=smileys/smiley19.gif border="0"></P>

Well 8.8 rear ends are a dime a dozen - go to a bone yard and yank one, then take it to a driveline shop and have it rebuilt (to be sure the bearings and seals are all good). Put whatever gears you want in it at this time.
It should run you about $5-600 for everything.
