speedometer question

Default speedometer question

ok so whenever im in motion my spedometer goes crazy flipping all over the place it this the sender is the cable screwed up im confused so any sugestions would be helpful

Mine did the same thing between 25 and 35 mph. I just lubed the cable after looking it up here on the forum.....Problem solved.

well ill try that too but i dont think thats it i mean it bounces everywhere from 0 to 140 all over the place

If that doesn't work Late Model Resto has them for about $17, easy fix.

it can also be the speedo gear. i'd look at it while you were in there

My elco (its a chevy, the speedo works the same) did that, I checked and the cable inside the sheath had started to come apart (just unwinding)

make sure you check the speed sensor as well, they have little plastic teeth on the end which can get ground down and start "missing". It is where your cable goes into the tranny

ive looked at that and it looks like its in working order im still not sure wats up with it
