94-95 5.0s are about equal with the 96-98 4.6 but the 5.0 is way easier to modify, and the parts are cheaper. the fox body 5.0s are slightly faster than the 96-98 like .4 or .5 in the quarter.

the PI converted 4.6s are nice motors but i still dont want one. non PI motors are poop slow. 94 95 5.0s are nice and should be very close to teh 4.6s. now a fox vs a 4.6 should walk away with no problem. a fox vs new edge could be a close race. and hell a fox vs a S197 could be a good race if the fox is in good shape with a good driver

That have been said, I doubt a equal (5spd, coupe) fox can beat a 4.6 by 1/2 second.

How about this matchup, my 91 5.0 (AOD) vs. (stock) 2001 4.6 with a 5 spd.? My buddy's got the 01 and he wants to race, but I'm pretty sure he'll walk me.

well guess what stock foxes ran that and lower before so you cant just go by what they quote times for
