Can't Bark Tires...
I can't remember that I've ever been able to bark the tires shifting into 2nd gear in my 88gt 5spd. Driveline is all fairly new except for the rear end. New ds new u-joints, rebuilt trans, new clutch, pp, and flywheel. I've been shifting at about 5k and it feels like the rpms drop and the car gets a little sluggish with no chirp or bark. Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated?! I mean I've been able to get any manual car I've ever driven to bark the tires into 2nd gear. Help!?

i haven't edited my sig in a while. the car has 1.7 roller rockers, new lifters, frpp hardened pushrods, gt-40 heads, explorer upper and lower intakes, 65mm tb, bbk cai, msd dist, frpp wires, ngk plat plugs, msd coil, elec water pump, elec fan, no smog, no ac, 130amp alt., bbk lts, bbk hpipe, slp1 catback, frpp aluminum ds, rebuilt t5, new clutch, and new frpp aluminum flywheel, pro 5.0 shifter, cobra wheels and michelin ps2 tires 255................stock tho.......
if you're actually willing to provide a viable opinion it would be appreciated man. guys on this form say i should be making about 250rwhp, plenty to bark tires into 2nd gear
could my cure all just be lack of gears???

I have a stock 88 gt that can burn tires through third and chirp second (never tried to do it in third) and it has 2.73's in it, so.... maybe its just something you're not doing completely right, if the clutch is fairly new you may not be used to it yet
quick edit, not MY CAR, dads car, and it has the stock clutch in it, with 108k miles
