RE: Horsepower
well to tell the stall speed. just cruise in the car and floor it the tach will jump before it sends a hit to the tires. thats your flash. mine was at 3k with my old stall. and if i foot braked it it would see about 2400 rpms

RE: Horsepower
well last night i took my stang out was cruisin hammered it raised to 3300-3400 before the power hit the tires, and i raced a firebird last night i hammered it and just spun and spun and spun then i hooked when he had like 1/2 car lenth to 3/4 a car lenth i caught him in no time passed him and just laughed it off but traction is big issue for me

RE: Horsepower
well thats alot higher then stock then. thats about a 3400 stall or so on a stock motor! i even know not to run anything higher then 3k on a stock motor. if its really that high and youre stock you are wasting power and hurting the car. stock motors peak at 3k or so for the torque. meansyou dont want anything higher

RE: Horsepower
traction is a big problem with everyones mustang just get some u/l ca and that should help especially if you get the drag radials like your talking about. i have a BBK uppers and lakewood traction action lift bars and my car STILL spins but its cause i have crappy tires good luck with your car though

RE: Horsepower
with a stall that high you need more than 4.10s. also traction shouldnt be a major issue with your basically stock car, but it is better to upgrade the suspension before you get the HP. also i wouldnt run DRs with all stock suspension. the battle boxes will be ruined in no time, along with a bunch of other things. you can do it, its just a durability thing. anyways, it seems you are young and have a long time to improve on your car so if i were you i would start with suspension, dont worry so much about 1/4 times as you wont see 13s with your auto until you gotta 300HP ride.

RE: Horsepower
my dad is a drag racer and very good at that, he knows alot of people he talked to a guy that knew alot about mustang suspension and this guys friend had a pure stock 89 GT he did alot of suspension mods to his car i dont know what kind of tranny he had, but he put his mustang in the 12s with a stock motor thats all i know, it was also a daily driver
