Default Rear Diff

I've notice a puddle getting larger under the rear diff on my 1990 5.0 vert. I assume it is just a gasket. Am i wrong in this assumpution and is it hard to change?

TIA

rear diff gaskets are probably the easiest gasket to change.

but you might want to also inspect the pinion seal before you open it up. If the pinion seal is leaking, find a professional shop that can change it for you.

Use RTV on diff cover. Get some friction modifier from Ford when you refill, one bottle will do.

Well from ford there isnt a gasket used just sealer. if you hvae jacked the car up recently on the chunk you prolly broke the seal. summit has a 8.8 gasket like 6$ works great! as far as the inspection why not look while the cover is off get a good flashlight and check it out!
