just bought an 88 5.0 project car. had a few questions, guy said its a mild cam, and doesnt know what it is. is there a part number stamped on it somewhere? obviously im not gonna waste my time pulling the whole valve train apart, but if its on the front of the cam that would be awesome. my second is i cant figure out what the original color is. in the engine bay it looks like a sparkle blueish, aqua type color. thanks for taking a look.

 

Look at your door jam for the color code

As for the cam if it is after market then it should have some type of engraving on the end of the cam where the gear bolts to. Not always though.
