Exclamation 88 GT cuts off when driven for one hour.

Remaned distributor
Replace Stator/pickup in distributor.
Replaced module twice, once with Advance and once with Ford and the gresse that goes between the module and distributor.

First happened on a 90 plus degree day. I thought the new stator had fixed the problem till today. I have been driving the car everyday for a week and a half to work. I never had an issue, however, I did not drive the car for more than 15-20 mins at a time. This afternoon I drove 70 miles on the interstate at 80-85 mph. I got caught in a traffic jam of stop and go for 20-25 mins. The car ran great till I pulled away from the stop and go. I had just got back up to 70-75 mph and it died again. I let it sit on the side of the road for 15-20 mins and it started back up. I then was able to drive it back the 70 miles with the cruise set at 55 mph.

I think the fuel pump or the coil is starting to go bad. The car has 67k orignal miles and is all stock except exhaust and a drop in the box K&N air filter. The fuel pump and coil are orignal.

I'll just jump in before everyone starts to ask, have you pulled codes?

Let look me in the tech articles, I don't know how to read the codes on pre 95 cars without the odb port under the dash.

So when it cuts off, have you checked for lack of fuel or spark?

A spark tester was going to be $15 and the MSD coil $30, so I purchased the new coil and that didn't fix the issue. I just had a new fuel pump, sock and inline filter installed today. I am going out now to drive it a while and see how it does. My mechanic said I need a new IACV as today it has started to try and take off on its on until you hit the brake. I think it is the cruise control acting funny because the previous owner said he had the same issue and had the linkage disconnected at the TB.(I have reconnected it of course). My mechanic also said its needs a new temp sensor because it tends to stay on the lower 1/4 of the temp gauge. You all wish me luck on the this test drive.

Well good news folks! As strang as it may sound the car is running and pulls better than ever. I drove the car for 102 miles to get the engine good and warm. It never one time cut off on me. I remove the fuse for the cruise control and the issue with the car wanting to take off on its on has stopped as well. The real test comes this weekend as I plan to drive 280 miles from GA to NC. I will try and report back after this weekend.
Atleast I know the dizzy and all the other part for fire will be good to go for a few years to come. Also now the car has a new fuel pump and filter as well.
I just need a new cruise control computer now I assume.?
