are all the fox bodied 5.0's 8.8 rearends? i am trying to find out if mine is, and noone in ohio knows for sure. i have the high mph speedometer and the gt dash, but i have an lx. it is an 88

yes it is a 8.8 rear, only the 2.3 fox's didnt have them, they have 7.5's

sorry but some misinformed info. 87 to 93 had 8.8s but the older one had 7.5s

and you spoke of GT dash there is no difference besides teh flog light switch

yea i know in 85 some came with 7.5s my buddys GT had a 7.5 373 peg legger

also remember peg legger got steeper gears for some reason

if you look at the stock gear chart and compare what models got the gears with what rear ends youll see and for reference

T5 car 273 and 308 with traction lok.......... 8.8
AOD car 273 and 327 with traction lok......... 8.8

89 had the full 140mph speedos, some 88s had them

My friends 89 has a 85 mph speedo, but its a 2.3.
