Default Draining fuel from a fox?

Hey yall...my '89 GT has been sitting for fifteen months. Long story, no problem with the car more due to a rocky relationship with MVA...lol. I started it a few times but the battery died and I haven't cranked her in at least four months. I'm putting her back on the road this week but figured I oughtta drain out the old fuel and fill her up with fresh. Any tips on draining the tank? Simple siphon hose in the filler neck?

Thanks for any help,

wow 60 lb injectors ?

if you have a stock pump i'd just pull it, drain and replace with a new one.

but with 60 lb'ers you'd need what ??? a 400 ? so you can support 1000 hp ???

he's got a professional tune on it, so i imagine they are turned down a bit. plus the meth/water injection provides higher octane and cooler combustion temps. double whammy!

anyway, if you have a half decent siphon pump, you could do it through the filler neck.
if it were me, i'd drop the tank straps and tilt it sideways. the filler neck goes into the side of the tank about 8 inches. if you drop the tank down enough to give it a couple kicks towards the drivers side, it should be free of the filler neck and you can just tilt it and get all the gas out. with money like that in my motor, i would be sure to do whatever i could to get that old gas out.

Thanks for the tips...and yeah, I don't wanna feed any trash into the fuel system. One small obstruction and she goes lean...very ugly with boost and advance! To answer on the 60# injectors...oh hell yeah, they're overkill. Check my sig for the current power she's making. The price difference between the injectors needed to support what she's making and what I want her to make after I build a motor centered around the V3 was minimal and saved me buying another set for the new powerplant. Tuning allows cutting the duty cycle on the injectors so the higher flow isn't a problem.

Y'all are great...love this place,

I"ve stored cars for over 2 years with no fuel additives and had them start up and drive without any problems.

Well thats just silly. Gasoline has a shelf life of about 6 months. After that it begins to sludge up, and the octane rating drops significantly.

I would siphon out as much as you can with a hose, then drop the tank once you got as much as you can to make it lighter and easier to handle then you can pour the rest out with ease. I've dropped a tank that was full and it was a pain in the ***.
