Default Supercharger?

I have been looking at different superchargers. I was considering the vortech and running about 8 lbs of boost. I have heard that i will have nothing but problems if i put one on. My car with the mods it has runs great. Will I get oil leaks from 8lbs of boost? My heads are not o-ring grooved. I like going fast but i also like reliability.

you should be fine with 8psi as long as you have around 9ish:1 CR

blowers are nice but remember what it takes to gain 100hp isnt as easy as what it takes for juice to make 100. and a juice motor is more reliable since its not always being abused by higher CR ratios where boost will create higher CRs. now for a strip car juice is better but if you want all around power then yes the blower is nice...and sure sounds pimp

you should be ok with 8psi and the DSS shortblock, what heads are you running?? why do you think a blower will cause oil leaks?? it will cause a blown head gasket, but i havent ever seen one cause an oil leak, except regular seapage from the feed lines.

yea thats all ive seen also is from the oil fittings. but in some cases the added pressure inside the motor can blow out the intake rear seal

I am running trick fow twisted wedge heads. I was told from several people that putting boost to the motor will cause oil leaks because of how fast it revs.

I was considering runnin nos, (its alot cheaper) but I dont know enough about it. I dont want to blow my brand new motor. I pulled 312hp at the wheels and the motor only has 150 miles on it. My wife would freak if I blew it up runnin nos.

i wouldn't like it having to fill up the tanks. and i'd rather have continuous hp than 1 quick shot. but that's just me.

if the car is for the 1320 then nothing wrong with the spray. you can spray a motor for about 40second consistant but i personally wouldnt do that. within the time it be more then enough to Walk a few things
