Headlight Switch
Hi all - seems like a great forum here, so I just joined.
I just purchased a 1989 GT Convertible with 55,000 original miles. Bone stock, in mint condition, right down to the original turbine wheels. Last night, the headlight switch stuck in the park position, and would not budge to the off position. I removed the switch with no problem, and am going to order a new one. Question: what is the best way to unplug the wiring harness on the back? I see where it latches on, but I don't want to break anything...
Thanks in advance for any help you might provide.

There's a tab on the plug that hold it to the switch, just gently pry it up a LITTLE and the switch will unplug from it.
Check the plug also,to see if it's melted. We carry both the plugs and the switches with free shipping.
Here's a link to them on our site if you would like to take a look at them.

No problem, had it happen to me too. I was on my way to a house party with the wife and BAM all of a sudden NO LIGHTS
I managed to wiggle the plug and got them working again to get the car home. When I brought it down the body shop my dad owned the plug was toast too.
I ended up cutting the old melted end off and soldering a new end on.It was pretty easy to do.
