Default no torque in 5th

So i have been having this problem for a while now....

i have been running some tests and i cannot figure out why, but i have absolutely no torque, giddy up, or power in 5th gear...

I'll be pounding through 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and when i get to 5th, it will bog down to like 1500 rpm and will not climb . theres is absolutely no torque, even with my 4.10 gears...

any possibilities???

what are your speeds/rpms are you shifting at.

the 5th gear on a t-5 is the overdrive (highway) gear.

i dont know the speeds but ill shift from 4th to 5th anywhere from 3k to 5k and it will still bog down to about 1500 with no torque.

+1 to Shelty - It is a highway gear. I can't remember exact RPM's, but i almost never put it in 5th unless i'm on the highway becuase as soon as i hit a 1% incline i need to put it back in 4th or the car doesn't want to go up an incline. But 5th on the highway is fine, and saves gas ^_^

Get yourself a 6 speed! Like everybody said, 5th is overdrive, it is made for letting the engine spin slower and getting more miles per gallon. My 5th gear has no ***** either.

4.10 gears and your car drops down to 1500 from 3-5k, maybe from 3k but if it drops that low and you winding out fourth into the 5k area thats not right, my fifth with stock 3.08 gears won't be at 1500 at anything above 40mph, and my fifth has power, not a lot mind you but unlike my dads car with 2.73's i can floor it in fifth and it goes ie has power. But none the less its an overdrive gear, its not meant to have power

I doubt it is the prob, since all these issues started around the time when you installed the intake, I still think something is not right there and possibley you are off on all the adjustments you have made trying to mask the underlying prob
