Default breathers

Does a engine has to have breathers n why. Im asking cuz mine is leaking from there n I put a cap n the oil came out from the oil stick. Thinking of putting new tall valve cover with with holes on each side. I just need to know if its the right thing to do n why it needs it

if the PCV system is functioning properly, you do not need breathers.

a properly fuctioning PCV system will create negative pressure inside the crankcase, which will remove volitaile emissions, and recycle them to be burned. which can lead to better HP, lower emissions, and less wear on internal parts.

so put it back to stock.

Thats not going to win you any friends on the forums

And PCV's dont put hot air into your engine. They remove blowby gasses (hydrocarbons) and water/steam from the crankcase due to combustion as stated.

You can always Google for more info on subjects your not familiar with or even buy a repair manual
