upgrades and sd
I have an 87 gt convertible and its still sd. It has a 65 mm tb and full catless exhaust. It idles like its surging and sometimes right when it starts itll die off.so i was wondering if being an sd car this is the problem and should i convert to maf. And one other thing, having no cats for ****s and giggles i had emissions done in ct and failed. figured id give it a shot. I have a set of high flow cats im putting in but one of the 02 sensors on my catless h-pipe is missing . I plan on getting a new one for the high flows but what kind of problem would that missing sensor cause and i should pass with the high flows on right? Thanks for all your help.

So here is my attempt to decipher your post.
87 GT (SD)
65mm TB, and offroad exhaust
Problem: Car surges/stalls
Quirks: missing an O2 sensor.
I'm going to have to call a DERP on this one. Your car is missing a vital piece of its self monitoring equipment, and you want to know why it runs bad.
Solution: Replace both of your O2 sensors, reset your ECM, and make sure you dont have any vac leaks.
