Yah, what he said, that should work out for you in those tight spaces.

you can use a lot of extensions and a swivel and come at it from the front of the car thats what we did when we put the starter back in my car

i did a t5 swap this weekend and i didnt have any trouble taking the starter on and off. to take out the bottom screw i simplt lifted the car and unsgrewed from the bottom with a regulat ratchet. for the top screw i had to go through the engine bay, but i still used a very small ratchet, there was limited space to turn but it wasnt that hard. i think it was like a 13mm on a very small ratchet so it was easy to fit in the tight space. going through the top of the engine bay was the only way i could get to it. hope this helps.

you need about 2 feet of extensions and route it from the front over the steering and just over the motor mount. feel for it with your other hand you will need a swivel too.
heres a tip, if you use electrical tape on the joints of the swivel it will make it easier. it wont go all over the place.

use an air gun and put a swivel with a 1/2inch socket it on it with a 10 inch extension or so and stick it in between the headers, and shoot quickley not slowly, if you shoot slowly, then the socket will just fly righ toff( just like using a hand rachet)
