Default 1988 GT wants cold air

Hi guys i wnated to put a cold air kit on my pony just one question the kit intended is the bbk 1557, however it says i need the bbk 1558 adapter to convert my speed density fuel injection to a mass air flow with the supplied kit just plug and play but where the hell is the "speed density sensor" i'checked all my service mauals Haynes, Chiltons none of which make mention of a speed density sensor. Help please!

If you car is a 88 and older it is a speed density car, which means your car don't reley on a mass air sensor to adjust air and fuel or help control idle and so forth, instead it reley's mostly on the map sensor to adjust all of the above, which also makes your intake system differnet because the lack of mass air meter not being there,so you will need to buy a intake for a speed density car like this http://cgi.ebay.com/Mustang-86-88-5-...QQcmdZViewItem
