I am putting in an Autometer oil pressure gauge and I have one last question:

Where should a person splice into the harness for lighting?

take off the heater controls, then splice into the one for the light.
thats the easiest way.

 

hrmm...
I forgot to mention that I have a 95 GT (not that it makes any diff, but it might).
So I take off the dash piece with the vents and radio in it, eh? I've had that off, so that won't be too hard.
