Default Timing...

Whats the benifit's in increasing the timing or vise versa?

Like say 14 degrees to 13 degrees what kind of difference will it make if at all any? Horse power difference? Or is it mostly for show like pretending to have a cam.

Advancing timing can gain you power, but you will need to use premium fuel. Increasing only 1 degree will not do anything noticable.

Default RE: Timing...

Last year, I had my timing set at 14 BTDC, and on the dyno it made 206 hp at the rear wheels. Upping the timing to 16 BTDC made 209, so it did make an improvement. Was it noticeable? Couldn't tell on the road, but it was a little quicker at the track.
Oh, and we tried going to 18 BTDC, and lost power.
