ECU swap
ok i have a question first, i want to swap the ECU on my 95 gt convert to the ECU in the 89-93 Fox mustangs, i heard they are more acceptable to mods. But i also was wondering about a Diablo Chip, if i get the Chip should i still swap the ECU or will the chip pretty much do what i need it to do?

RE: ECU swap
Hey i was just looking at your post because i have a 94 GT and wanted to do the same thing and i was told to get the tweecer set up. its about 400-500 bucks depending on which one you get but you also have to use it on a lap top as well..but you can do all your tunning and settings by yourself and learn how things work..sounds intresting. thats just my 2 cents.
P.S.- why the low 1/4 mile time? my friend has the same set up as you do and was running 14.9s. just wondering tho.. good luck

RE: ECU swap
tweecer chips dont need to be tuned from the lap top u can do it at your desktop too, but i dont have the time to learn the software and id much rather trust someone who knows how to tune the chip, as for my times i was thinking its the ECU thats not noticing my mods im not really sure yet, i might be getting a new motor tho so it could be something internally as well if i find out ill let u know
P.S, im at mile high altitude so if i were to run in lower altitude u can shave about a second off the times

RE: ECU swap
like i said im at higher altitude then u in LA, i ran a 16.14 but i had to hit the breaks so i wouldnt break out in bracket racing, and with my altitude compared to yours thats about a second diffrence in the 1/4 mile so it coulda been a 15.14, and still no ones answered my question should i get an ECU and a chip or just a chip??!?

RE: ECU swap
i have a 95 gt too and i was told you cannot get a chip for it...you have to swap the internal computer for another one w/a ECC-V or somethign like that. or do the whole labtop do it urself stuff....i looked at diablo and superchip and they dont have anything for our year so i believe what i have heard

RE: ECU swap
I've heard different stories on this. Most say its true that the A9L computer accepts mods better than a 94-95 T4MO computer because the 94-95 programming in the computer is based upon load. The T4MO is supposed to have a better processor which means it'll read changes from the sensors faster. The problems with the T4MO mainly occur when the cam is changed. The problems can be "tuned" out using a twEECer. If you still insist on the 89-93 A9L then you'll have to get an adapter to plug it into the 94-95 harness. I've heard that Pro-M made the adapter but now that they are out of business and back in business as Pro Mass Air Systems, I don't know if they still carry the part. U may have to try ebay or car swap meets.
