Question I need some cheap performance upgrades

I just picked up a 1991 mustang 5.0 5 speed last night and it somewhat stock. My dad use to be a ford guy till he bought his first dodge cummins but I bought this for him for a father/son winter project. We were gonna swap the 429 big block with a C6 and 9" rear I have in my 93 stang but it's not street legal in NJ. So to get back to my new stang it's a 91 5.0 5 speed it has some BBK parts under the rear and some kind of race clutch cause there a cable to make the clutch light or heavy. It has a aftermarket cold air intake. So I'm looking for some cheap ungrades. Any help much appreciated.

I don't now how cheap cars are I'm into diesel trucks so an average part for me is $1,000. So I guess $250-500?

I believe it has a aftermaket exhaust I know it has free flow cats on it already. I'm gonna throw my 9" with 4:10's under it so I have both of those done already.

Okay I ordered the lug conversion and my friend has alot of gears laying around he can give me 3:55,3:73,4:10,4:38. I'm thinking 3:73 cause there still a good 1/4 mile gear but you can still screw around and have some fun. What gears do I have from the factory?
