I bought a 89 LX 5.0 that had been originally stick was converted into auto (i know). Having issues with whoever hooked it up. My reverse lights were not working so I checked the bulbs and they were missing. Put new ones in and the lights stay on as soon as the car is on.
Upon research I have a neutral saftey/backup light switch on the auto trans, but for manual it is two different switches.
The switch on the trans is not hooked up. now on a manual there is no neutral saftey switch, just the clutch switch, that must be jumped because car can start in D.
Baffled because on a manual the back up light switch actually plugs into the side of the tranny, I cant find the wires that should be for the back up switch, I assume the are looped also making it think it is always in reverse.
Anyone know what color wires I should be looking for, for the back up light to or off the trans?
