Default Car is Smoking Blue/Black Possible rings or valve seal?

Hey all, just wanted to know if anyone has any suggestions got new fresh 306 built and bought it off my buddy which ran fine for him recently starting smoking blue/black. only 1000km on the car since installed and first 500km were babyed to brake in new clutch.

Started just the other day that I noticed I thought it was happening only under load from first 2nd etc I first thought rings but no way as the whole engine was looked over before i bought it and installed it. Next thinking valve seal as it only sometimes does it i dunno clueless. appears sometimes doing it othertimes not and even today reving it up in while parked it did it sometimes not other times so it wasn't under load.

What things can cause this?

Rings/Valve seal/OS sensor's/Gas?

Any thoughts would be great.

Thanks.

black is rich. an over rich motor will also see blue smoke out the back. its called fuel wash and to much fuel will wash down the cylinders and mix oil in with the gas creating a 2 stroke looking motor. get a tune or set the fuel psi correctly

Black is fuel, blue is oil, and white is steam. black is the easiest and less involved to fix (usually tuning). The new engine shouldn't have a valve or ring problem so soon.

Well Update, Oil did smell like Gas. I need to take this car up to toronto/oshawa to get a tune as no one around in my small area that I would trust messing with it. To set the fuel PSI, how is this done or shall I really be using a aftermarket Fuel Pressure Reg?

the engine has 24 lbs injectors with the c&L mass air calb to the 24 lbs injectors. What would you best suggest on how to tune and set this or if anything should be replaced?

i guess theres already a ajustable fuel pressure on the car engine just no gauge. also i guess this engine was on the dyno and was already setup and tuned fine so it shouldn't need anything. i ethier should say screw it and have it tuned again and go from there.

Any thoughts?

just put on a cap, rotor, plugs, wires, and go get it tuned, have the fuel pressure adjusted. Just do it for your own personal refference, so that you know it is done right, and you know what the fuel pressure is set at.

BTW...Nice looking car i need some more pics to see..yeaha!.lol

I think others will agree that your injectors are overkill. You will probly fix the prob by putting the 19's back in it with a recalibrated Mass Air. I would do that before you score the cylinder walls.

Where abouts do ya live? I'm one hour west of Kitchener/Waterloo.
