Stock valve size
OK, correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the valves on my 95 GT 1.75" intake, and 1.375 exhaust? I ask because I'm getting oversized valves for a new set of stock heads, along with roller rockers, and ported exhaust. And what size should I go to? I was thinking 2.02" intake and 1.6" exhaust? Is that too big?<edited><editID>tchamber</editID><editDate>37965.661087963</editDate></edited>
you are going to spend all that money to put bigger valves in you syock heads when you could buy some aftermarket heads for almost the same. that is a lot of wasted money if youask me. new stock heads. spend a little more and get some afr's. and when you get your new engine just get them freshened up. it is a lot easier and you will benefit more in the long run both money wise and mind wise.
A little more for AFRs? Nah, they run over $1200, and I will be spending less than $250. Besides, I hear that with my 100K engine, I dont want any big power or the bottom end will go out. I just want enough to hold me over till I can get a new engine. <edited><editID>tchamber</editID><editDate>37965.9935185185</editDate></edited>
Well, I get the machining done for free at Lake Washington VocTech, and as for the valves fitting, I dont see why they wouldnt, because aftermarket heads that have that size valve still have the same bore, so the head should be wide enough. I hope. Keep on posting ideas, let me know what you think.</P>
