no not all 5.0 L EFI's were HO. i was looking to make my 4cyl to 5.0 swap cheaper by using a 5.0 from either a crown vic or a grand marquis, but after talking to many local and state mustang performance shops, those engines were not HO and they also weren't equipped with the roller system that all HO's have.

The HO motors have higher compression, a hotter cam, and probably better heads also.
