Default Shifting Troubles

I fixed the idle on my car finally, its perfect... now I have to fix this probably with my tranny. I dont know if its a "problem" exactly tho maybe its normal. Going into 3rd gear and I force it in (shifting from ~3,000 rpms in second) it grinds for a short instant and goes in. But If I wait for the 3rd gear to accept it, it doesnt grind but I've had to wait about a second to put in which becomes annoying and I do slow a little bit. Is this a bad sign for my tranny or what? Doesn't happen much in other gears.</P>

Also, Ive tried shifting at different rpms, high and low, and the same thing happens...</P>

Any input is appreciated, thanks...</P>

By the way its a T5 with pro 5.0 short shifter</P><edited><editID>Milky</editID><editDate>37965.9742361111</editDate></edited>

<FONT size=2>Fourth is direct 1:1 ratio. It would seem only the mainshaft is "in play"-very little wear on the trans. I lost a tooth on my input gear, and 1st,3rd, and 5th were the gears that made noise, while 4th was quiet.</FONT></P>
