It is probably blow by. The seal itself is cheap, but to replace u have to drop the tranny. If u have a stick wait until your next clutch and do it at the same time. I've heard that synthetic leaks more than conventional. I dont know why but it seems true as I just changed back to conventional and I haven't noticed any spots on driveway like before

syn isnt a problem. its the same weight as normal oil. syn just helps start up and etc. ppl that say its thinner are full of crap. some weight for each oil is the same

its like having a ton of feathers and a ton of bricks both weigh the same

True!........20-50 is the same viscosity whether synth or conv. but for some reason i was told that conventional somehow worked better with the engines seals (not sure how) and would leak less. I tried it and I dont seem to be leaking as much from the rear main seal...which will be fixed with next clutch and TOB.

well hell 20w50 should never be used in a street motor. but if you got a bad bearing or in your case it will help but its a bad oil to use for the street

BTW that was just an example. I use 10-30. and I swear the seal seem to leak less once i re-satrted using conventional mobil clean 10-30.

syn oil gets thinner but lubercates better because of the addatives in it that is why you see more leaks then with conventional oil
