I am doing a compression test on my 92 mustang lx 5.0 I know the compression is 9:1 but what should I be looking for on the compression tester in Psi??

How much psi depends on the motor and how old it is. I would just look for something above 100 psi and every cylinder VERY close to each other.

exactly. its not so much the psi but the cylinders should be within 5 psi of each other if not the same. you will probably be around the 125 mark

120 is hte lowest you want to see and thats a worn motor..... my motor read 30psi so its gone and parts are for sale

ok, on a new engine what should the psi be just for the record. Also where can I get an awesome service manual???

You are 'ok' on any used motor if the lowest cylinder is within 10% of the highest one.....
