Default Clutch Cable Issue

Just installed my new clutch. Bought the car with busted bellhousing, busteddriveshaft, and collar on the tranny busted. Got it all back together. The clutch cable keeps popping off the quandrant. Its red and says engine works on it. I went under the car and moved the nut on the adjustment about 1 inch. The cable doesnt come off now, but the clutch pedal seems much higher than brake pedal. Am I doing something wrong?

Unless you had to reinstall the clutch pedal, I doubt there is anything wrong with the clutch pedal being higher.

You can adjust it if you want

I have been reading threads, pedal two inches higher is normal. My problem is installed new clutch, flywheel, t/o Bearing, and Pilot bearing. I had a clicking in the clutch, you could hear it coming from bell housing. So I tightened my cable, it goes away as you push the pedal about an 1/8". I am maxxed out of threads at bellhousing for tightening. Its an aftermarket cable that came with the car. Should I go purchase a new one? Anyone had this issue?

if you have an aftermarket quadrant too, you'll need a firewall adjuster to get pedal height correct/where you want it
