Going from 2.73's to 4.10's

Maybe hogwash.
I only base my opinion on my 66 which has a 3.50 rear and Ford toploader. In fourth gear, she revs at 4,000 going 70 mph. If I had a fifth gear, don't know how much it would drop off on the rev count.
Since you actually install gears, I will defer to your opinion.

I run 4.10s in my 07 and absolutely love them...No issues on the highway. However...when i had my 4sp 67 Chevelle with 4.11s it certainly did tach out on the highway...I spent all my time in the slow lane.

i dont mean to hi-jack the tread but i saw what u guys said on ur rpm's with 4.10's. i was told with my 86 5.0 with a t-5 that i have 3.73's but on the highway in 5th going 70 mph i am turning 2500. so do i possibly have 4.10's then???

I've driven Mustang 5 speeds with 4.10 gears, 1st is very short (too short) for a DD IMO.
Anyways, to each their own.
