Default Going from 2.73's to 4.10's

Do i need to change carriers to go to 4.10 since going up two series. i have been told that I dont and that I dont so not really sure on what to do?

Nope use the same carrier , just make sure who ever does the swap knows what there doing and while your in there have the clutch packs serviced.

Will spool up fast but rev like crazy on the highway. Will you add a 6 speed?

WTF are you talkin' about?? I run 4.10's and barely turn 2400 at 65 mph, I've installed many 4 .10 set ups in mustangs for guys and never in 5th gear is it reving like crazy.......internet hogwash.

Maybe hogwash.

I only base my opinion on my 66 which has a 3.50 rear and Ford toploader. In fourth gear, she revs at 4,000 going 70 mph. If I had a fifth gear, don't know how much it would drop off on the rev count.

Since you actually install gears, I will defer to your opinion.

He'll be fine. My 3.73's pull a hair over 2k on the highway
