Wanted to thank everyone for helping out. I recently decided that I wanted to build a 351W probably bore it out to a 427 or smaller idk... But if I do decide to go 427 I wanted to buy a Dart block. Anyone know any websites I can get one on the cheap? Cheapest I've seen was about 1700 bucks. I'm still going forged parts cause I defitly plan on supercharging it. Not sure if I'm capable of building it myself so I might actually have a shop build it for me. I don't want to mess anything up. Especially a build line this that will be very pricey!

Watch out for the Chinese copys of the Dart block being sold online.
They look just like a Dart and most all the specs are the same except one.
The metallurgy, they are a lot softer than a real Dart.
They are sold 'on the cheap' however for about $1000-1200.

How much power are you wanting? If 500hp is your goal, there's no point in stroking AND supercharging. A well built 427 should make that very easily.

If you're supercharging it, I would think a nicely tuned supercharger on 351 cubic inches would probably yield somewhere in the 400's. However, you're looking at a dart block which would probably have the 4.125" bore. With a stock stroke, which is 3.5" if I recall, you're already at 377ci + boost.

If you want to make big numbers, you're gonna spend big numbers. You can only go as fast as you can spend. Here's an idea of price for a stroked dart with all forged internals.

Thats not really a bad price at all for an internal balanced 408.

I would like 500+ HP. I know that seems a little much for a daily driver but idk that's just what I want. I was thinking of just getting a crate motor built. There is a few differrent companies that make some pretty good looking and running motors with good reps./customer feed backs. 'Proformance Unlimited' is one that I'm very interested in having build it for me. Yeah it takes the fun of building it all by my self, but then again there is a chance i can **** something up and have it go 'BOOM'. But if they mess something up and it goes boom, there is a 2-3 yr w/ unlimited mileage warranty on all builds so i can just return it and have them build another. It is a bit costly but I'm kinda thinking its worth it.

Oh yeah another question for everyone/anyone.....What Transmission am i going to need for a 427ci engine putting out 500+ HP and what Differential should I get???? I know a 9 in rear would be good(i think), but where can i buy one or what vehicle should i take one from at a junk yard that will fit??? Oh, and what gears are good for a daily driver?? and another question.. is this all gonna be smog legal???

Idk what the hp limit on an 8.8 is but they're pretty tough. Probably don't want a posi if you're making those kinds of numbers unless you have great tires and suspension or are a fan of huge smoke

If you live in a place with the IM240 type bi-annual or annual test you can probably forget any sort of a 427.

Well that sucks ! I live in California and they are known for having the worst smog control laws (I think.) So I'm guessing I'm probably just gonna build a 351w. Probably forged parts. And a nice top end. Even if it only makes like High 300's(HP), that should probably still be plenty of power. Now the trouble is gonna be finding parts for the 351w. I heard they were somewhat tough to find.. Idk?!

Nothing hard to find about 351W parts.
You need to do a little searhing on line.
