No it was a speed density car. It has a MAP sensor ( Manifold absolute pressure ) . I think there on the firewall of your car passenger side. It will have a wire plug and 1 vacuum line running to it.

Lots of pple converted from speed density to maf as a mod on the foxes. Its a pretty common swap.

Yes your good , no there isn't supposed to be on in the intake tube. Auto zone parts for the 88 gt only lists a map sensor No maf.

OK I DID SOME RESERCH AND I GET A MIXED BAG OF INFO. I SEE THAT THE DENSITY MOTOR IS LIMITED TO MODS BUT IS BETTER,THE MASS IS MORE ADAPTED TO MODS.
SO SHOULD I CONVERT TO A MASS AND WHAT IS INVOLVED TO CHANGE?IE PARTS ETC AND SHOULD I LEAVE IT OR WHAT

basically with a MAF conversion you add a maf and wiring and the mass air computer...

speed density is ok for mods as long as you pay to get it tuned after each one...maf is the way to go if you wanna be able to easily account for changes

With speed density your limited to making radical changes for mods such as a bigger cam or higher flowing heads and intake.
It is a fairly easy conversion , but it is also quite involved and time consuming. You will need to swap the computer for a maf ecc ,
