Idle problem.

RE: Idle problem.
I had the same problem. I took the egr valve out and cleaned it, cleaned the IAC and cleaned my TB. I then checked my timing to make sure that it was set to 10 or 12 BTC. Mine was set at 6 after I set the timing back to 12 the car idled the way it should. Give that a try.

It's quite easy. There to bolts that hold it in you loosen them up (just a little) and put a volt meter to it while the key is on the on postion (car not running). one side of the tps moves back and forth. It doesn't need to be at .99 but anything close to 1volt would be good. I think that as long as it's within .88 to 1 volt would be right on. I've got mine at one volt.

RE: Idle problem.
well the tps on my old 87 was not adjustable, the screw holes weren't slotted so that i could rotate the sensor... so i just drilled some "custom slots" for the 2 screws to rotate in, and then i adjusted it to .98v every mustang person in here should realize that you can't always just go buy a new part or "convert" something with newer stuff to make it work, sometimes the only option is to customize something yourself, and sometimes its just easier
