I had somewhat, alot of the same problems you are having a few months ago, tried everything. I checked voltages and resistance on all my sensors, everything seemed fine. Just by chance I changed out the Throttle Position Sensor (after researching some of the old threads here) with a new one and it runs like a scalded dawg. Problem solved!!!!!

You can check for play in the timing chain by taking the distributer cap off and manually moving the crankshaft back and forth until the rotary button moves. You can move it back and forth using a pull handle and socket on the large bolt in the center of the harmonic balancer. It should only have a couple of degrees of play. Like was said earlier, that's not the likely problem. You may also want to check the connection of the salt and pepper shaker connectors. I've read of weird things occuring when this connection is not good. Also, have you run a compression test? A bad valve could do this as well.

ok so, so far i've swapped or replaced the fuel pump, distributor, throttle body (including TPS, and everything else on it), plugs, wires, cap, rotor, MAS. With absolutely no change in the way it runs. all i can think of left is...Junk motor which seems out of the question considering it was obviously running pretty good when it Smashed the car in front of it and totaled it out, a jumped timing chain, Or a vacuum leak, anyone else have any idea's, i Really hate this car..

what is a "spout connector"?? and this car is wierd, it'll fire up, and the first 1-3 seconds, it'll usually run/rev up GREAT, like a NORMAL car, then after that 1-3 second period, it'll go back to running like crap
