Default a/c delete and removal

ya so i have a a/c in my 89 5.0 that doesn't work it only blows out warm air.... aka no more freon in it. so i want to take out the a/c pump and all the crap along with it. like the condensor, and the tubes, and pump. it will make the engine look better and give me some hp and less weight. my question is: if i take out the a/c pump is there a bracket required to fill the space, and also all the tubes and stuff that i would remove what do i do at the firewall.... do i cut it and forget it or do i have to take the dash apart and remove something around the heater core or is there a tool that i use to remove stuff... let me know thanks

I didnt use a replacment pully. What i did was take the whole A/C unit out and then i took off the Idler Pully and drilled a new hole to offset the pully. there is a pin on the idler pully to prevent it from moving. I think i drilled the hole about 2mm counterclock wize from the original hole.this allows you to just put on a storter belt and it will allow the Idler pully to come down on the belt and work. Its a matter of just looking at it and figureing out what will work.I havent had anyproblems with how i did it the belt has never come off and i race my car so i have pushed the rpms way up. Doing it this way is better then buying a pully because when you put on a pully there is still some drag this way theres none. But if it isnt done right you can have a problem with belt tension. But you can allways try it my way and if it doesnt work you can just put it back and bye the pully.

k so bascally just take the a/c pump off and cut the tubes. i was wondering this b/c the seal around where they go into my firewall isnt that snug. like i can fit a finger into the hole. then the tubes go in like there streached out so would i have to put something over it? and Drive85mustang50 i went to 50resto.com to look at things and i found this.... http://secure.50resto.com/product1.c...tegory_ID=1089 kinda same thing as u said but less work....lol and what happens if ne freon is left in my a/c. will i get hurt if any comes out? thanks

NAH i got the s@#t all over my hand and i was fine.(i think,i hope[]) And yes that would of been a better way but the work i have done to this engine was just anylittle thing i can get out of it with only spending llittle to no money on it because im building i new motor with only a waterpump and alternater pully so why would i spend the money.I have just squezzed as much power out of it for now till the new motor is done. but that looks like a great kit for you or anyone else getting rid of the

well you might add 1-2 hp by removing it and lowering the value of the car..something to think about..don't cut anything as that's permanet...
