vfast is correct, by coating the inside you help keep heat from dissipating thru the header itself. Also, if the exhaust air inside the header is hotter, it travels faster, and everyone knows what that will help do....gain HP

Hope this helps,

off subject, but I'm gettin a RAM when I get back from England. how much did you pay, i saw 'em for about $150 in 5.0 mag. is that about right?

I payed about 340 I think or something like that, they are shorties. I payed 150 for my RAM and I love it. But some better clutches are King Cobra, and Centerforce.

I answered it in my first post I believe. The main reason is because the heat is not dissipated through the metal in the headers themselves. This allows for greater flow, by keeping the heat in, and thus greater hp. Along with not dissipating the heat goes a cooler engine bay, meaning your FIPK gets less hot air, and a little more power too, but not much. The average gain over a non-jet hot coated header probably isnt over 7 or 8 hp, but the coating is also lifetime guaranteed, and resists corrosion and discoloration really well. (Unlike those Flowtechs that turn pink after ten minutes), greater flow due to heat being kept in the pipes is the name of the game, and when I get my Magnaflows and X pipe next year, it'll be great for putting the power down. Hope you learned something Vfast.
