Hey guys! I'm new to the forum, tonight is my first post. I'll be getting my dad 91GT 5.0 convertible. It only has 80k miles on it. I had a 91 LX back in 91 and loved it. I want this car to be a weekend car but I also want some horsepower out of this thnig. It's already fast as it is, but for some reason, I want more. It's never enough right?!?! Heres my thing, I also like chevy's and i know you guys will probably say, what the F*&^ are you doing here then? Anyhow, I really like and want a chevelle with a 454 in it. I test drove one today and let me tell you, this thing was a beast! only thing wrong with it is the price. The mustang, I'm getting is pretty much for free. Is there a way to make a at get 400-500 HP out of a mustang thats a 302? My issue also is smog here in California. I have been customizing imports for 5 yrs and always had to deal with smog and it's a pain in the ***. With the 91 GT Im about to get, ill still have to deal with smog, but if I get a "classic muscle car" I wont have to worry about smog anymore. I know I will be getting the mustang still, it means a lot to my dad to rather hand it out to family than others. I guess what I'm asking is what can I do to this convertible mustang to make it sound and as fast as a 454 or at least keep up with one? Thanks guys!

a lot an pretty ez....i jsut moved from cali and yes , the smog laws do suck.

since it's not a daily driver , i say go 4.10's, ported heads and intake, e-cam, 24lb inj., 65 tb, 75 meter, 100 shot of nitrous or a "a" trim blower

that should have you awfully close 450-500 and running 11's w/ ease

if you plan on running it, 'verts need to be caged at 13.49 and faster
