my buddy has a 95 convertible cobra...you know...5.0L stock...just new paint job...
I, on the other hand have a 91 LX with a 5.0 with a 5 speed...with a few mods...hurst short throw, bbk shorty headers., 2chamber flowmasters with h pipe, no cats, trick flow upper and lower, msd ignition, 3.55 rear end, pulleys, accell wires and plugs...and i think thats about it...both are in good condition, both i have to say look brand new and run very strong too.
the argument starts here. i was hanging out in my "buddys" garage when he starts saying things like...my cobra could take your old piece of s**t any day. guy with the cobra says his 5.0 is different than my LX. and stronger. my LX has a HO thrown on it since it was a 4 banger back in the day. cobra guy says that his stock cobra convertible will pull 3-4 car lengths on me. i have no problem admitting when i am wrong about some thing, but i dont think this sounds right...can someone tell me the 5.0 differences on this case, and who might be quicker...saying we both are good shifters....may be when he reads this topic, his mind will change...maybe not?

i believe he has a cobra intake which is better flowingand alsothe gt-40 heads. you still should smoke him somewhat badly, but yes, his engine is a little better STOCK. you weigh less anyway so even stock for stock you might run right with him.

s**t!200 is chump change!Run him for his cobra!Stock to stock the lx will take him.But you have mods done so you've got the jump on him.If weight was all the same and everything was the exact same with the exception of the motors he would get you but they arent and you have the advantage so run him for his car.But make sure hes in front of all your friends and his so he looks like a p**** for running his mouth and not wanting to back it up.If taking his car is a little too much do as suggested and run him for a couple of hundred that way he can see you make your car faster with his money.

thank you all and my friend apologizes (while being rather red in the face)...i also posted this on the TCCOA forums and they all agreed, also they said that the cobra (for that year) did not have "forged" internals which would give me an advantage also...once again..thank you very much
