And also can some one comment on what springs I should be looking for? I am really not looking for cornering at all. I know a lot of guys on these forums are but that's not my thing lol. Just a decent ride quality that doesn't make my girlfriend hate the car lol.

you just mentioned nose dive when braking. That tells me you need to replace shocks. If you experiencing a bounce "side to side" type sway, then look at your sway bar links they could easily be worn out.

Awesome man thanks. It's been hard finding straight answers lol. So I think I've decided to go with ford racing b springs and kyb shocks and struts as they are basically stock replacements. Thanks for all the help!

hello;

What is your exact tire size?

the wider your tire is and the lower its profile, the harsher the ride will be.

example:

195x75 = cumfy

225x60 = noticeably firm but not harsh

235x50 = put a gel pad on your drivers seat

245x40 or lower/wider = spinal compression.

The stock tires on that car are 225x55-16. This means it will ride slightly harsh unless you go to different tires.

If the ride still sucks after you change the suspension then you can try different tires however unless you go to 15" rims it will only make a small difference.

Stock .225x60-16 = 26.6X8.9

Option 215/60R16 = 26.2X8.50

OR

15" tire on 7" rim 225x60-15 = 25.6X8.9 = noticeable improvement.

15" tire on 7" rim 215x65-15 = 26X8.50 = uber comfy.

Since you do not do performance driving, I suggest you run the tires on the low side of the mfg's recommended pressure. You can actually run it around 2 lbs less for an even more comfy ride. just don't do 70 mph for 100 miles like that.

You can buy new nice chinese rims for around $110.00 each.

Both I and mjr46 gave you straight accurate answers. It's simply your choice whether to believe them or not.

I am actually and engineer and have done extensive engineering and testing on suspension.

It's hard to say since you now say your nose dives excessively upon braking. this is due to soft sproings and/or low compression shgocks. in your case it is likely caused by both. stiffer springs and good shocks will reduce this but it will make your ride more jarring and harsh which is what you said you are trying to avoid.

You can't have your cake and eat it to unfortunately.

sounds like it will be easier to replsace your girlfriend then obtain a cushy ride she will enjoy.

Bingo! Keep in mind though that a big part of the harshness is due to the tires and NOT the suspension.

I have driven $150,000.00 Mercedes with low profile tires from the factory and uber fancy suspension and when they hit a sharp edge bump it still beats the "c__p out of you.

As I said, it might be bottoming out. We can not determine this from behind a computer, only you, a knowledgeable friend, or a shop can..

Yes you are wrong to say that. Your shocks are TRASH, lol.

Both mjr46 and I already went over this in detail. We are 100% right and anyone that says tht subframes softens the ride is simply wrong.
