Changed aod shifter nob, now can't get my key out

Changed aod shifter ***, now can't get my key out

So I ordered a new UPR shifter *** to replace the ugly shifter handle. I followed the instructions provided by the company UPR. However, now I cannot get my key out as I cannot turn the key back all the way. Not sure its related or not but I assume it is. Any thoughts?

Try turning the steering wheel while turning the key to off position.

Positive it's in park all the way?

Thanks for the input. Turns out it wasn't in park all the way. I had to loosen the *** when in park. Then is popped up just a bit more and was fully in park. Then tighten the *** again.
