Default Torque convert. question

well the 89 5.0 needs a new torque converter. Any ideas on if i should just replace it with a stock replacement or should i upgrade it now? i have the AOD tanny and have no plans of swapping it for anything else, so is it worth extra dollars or no? stock replacement is $80 plus labor.

anything lower than 3000 you will not notice much diff and be unhappy.

i did a 2200 in a '90 gt w/ wide gear set, gt40 intake, 3.73's , and exhaust and it felt almost stock still.

it still bogged a bit on cheater slicks too

I put a 2200rpm stall B&M on my Vic this summer, but it's hard to say how much it changed as I also changed to a wide ratio AOD and changed my rear gear. How does the 3K effect daily drivability?
