Buy yourself a new cable and quadrant! the factory cable is not adjustable manually, it has a crappy self adjuster, the aftermarket cable and quadrant will have a manual adjust cable.

BBK has a kit from www.summitracing.com that has the cable, the quadrant, and the firewall adjuster for either 124 or 139, depending on years.

I have the same problem, my cable snapped just last night and now I'm trying to figure out how to fix it up.

This looks like a good unit guys, I'd check it out, no firewall adj. but I can't say that I'm all that impressed with them anyway.

I'm not real sure but that sounds a little sarcastic to me! Hugh I thought I just agreed with you!? I'm REAL sure that's why it's cheaper altough some people LIKE the firewall adjuster, we can make our own choices in life right?

I just replaced my cable, and the pedal is a lot harder to push. Will the self adjust slacken it up after a while? The cable was $38 at Autozone. I am not impressed with that self adjust-but it was busted in Barstow,on a saturday. It was a stock replace, orpoint it home and crank it up in gear.
