LX to GT to Cobra. Need advice. Cobra body kit anyone?
Thinking of buying the body kit and turning my 88 into a Cobra Clone.
Anyone on here done that? I searched but couldn't find much.
I bought my latest fox about 6 months ago. Advertised as an 88GT, I may have gotten screwed on the deal though.
It wasn't until I went to put insurance on it I realized it wasn't a true GT but originally an LX that had been swapped.
Not a big deal, the swap was done right and its a nice ride, but if I'm going to own a clone it might as well be a cobra. So that's where I'm at, any thoughts?
Any input is appreciated.

I wouldn't change a thing about the body at all. Id take the money and do some engine upgrades or suspension and rear diff upgrades. You would add more value to the car that way. As it is unless its an actual cobra car the value will only reflect that of a lx or gt.
Car looks bad A$$ already.
Also it looks to have a gt40 upper intake on it so that's the same as a cobra intake. I wonder what heads are on the car.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I hear ya, maybe I'll just focus on the performance for now.
The guy said its all stock except for an e303 cam, springs and the BBK cold air. I'll try to look at the heads tonight and see if I can find any markings.
The car has been lowered for sure, 5 lug conversion, disc brakes all the way around. Dynomat interior, fresh carpet and seals. Front and rear sway bars, bump stops, sub frames, and it does have flowmasters on it. Cleanest fox I've ever owned for sure.
Handles awesome, but hates the bumps in the road.
The dash on the driver side and console will all move on the big bumps, can't do it by hand, just when I'm driving.
It's like it takes all the force from the road into the rack and pinion and up into the column. I think it's due to the tires and being lowered. Running 245/40-17 tires, riken cheep o's.
Thinking about putting some Nitto 245/45/17's on the front and 255/50/17's on the back. Thoughts on tires?
Steering is real tight from the wheel and everything looks great under the car on the front end.
I'm thinking I need to start with some new tires to see if it helps the ride first, then start looking at HP mods. Appreciate the time and feedback fellas.
