Default Reverse Light Issue

Hello everyone, I need some help, recently I've put in a hurst competition shifter, the one in it before was stock, with the stock shifter, the reverse light had been working properly, but when I put in the hurst shifter, the reverse lights stay on all the time no matter what gear I am in. Any suggestions on what it could be?

Check this connection

Maybe it's disconnected or the switch itself is bad.

wouldn't be disconnected....that'd make it not light up........switch completes path for ground iirc..........unplug it.......if lights go out = bad switch...if not, there is a short in the harness to ground...... a short on the b+ side would pop fuses so issue is on the ground side
