Default 5.8 question

I have a 91 Ford Lariat pickup with a very strong 5.8L engine in it, but the tranny is shot and the body is trash. I am wondering if that 5.8 can be modded to fit into a Mustang any year after 1973. And, if so......would it produce more HP than a 5.0 with mods? Thanks guys.

The stock 302 just isn't going to make as much power as a 351 can - and when you stroke it like said above it runs away from the 302.
