Default Throttle Body Cleaning Methods

Hey all,

My idle slightly pulses and also hangs a little over 1000rpm when I give it a rev. I've got no codes, cleaned my IAC and put a new gasket in, and have done a base idle reset. I'm convinced that if I clean my throttle body that it will help. I've got a 91' and I want some peoples' opinions on how to clean the TB. Some people say disconnect the intake, leave the TB on, and clean it. Others say disconnect the TB completely and clean it. Another thing, I've heard for some years that you shouldn't clean the TB because it will remove the protective coating. Like I said I have a 91' and there's no indication on my TB saying not to clean it. Any and all recommendations are appreciated!

My car does the same thing, always has. I thought that slight hang was programmed into the ECM for manual transmission cars. I could be wrong, but I'd live with it.
