Default Radio and clock memory loss

I have a 1995 GT and every time I turn the car off, the memory on the radio resets and the clock resets as well. The dome lights also do not come on when I open the doors. What could be the problem??

Aftermarket radio? Is this a new problem? Did the radio work and suddenly start doing this?

Yes it is an aftermarket radio. And no, it's done this since I've had the car, just got it back from the body shop after not having it for 2 months so I haven't been worrying about it. I thought maybe it was the ignition switch but I got that replaced and it didn't fix it.

If its an aftermarket radio I would guess the ignition and constant power sources got mixed up.

Would that also cause the clock and the dome lights to be messed up?

check fuse for dome lights, it's possible the memory wire from radio is tapped in there...could be blown

Just checked every single fuse, both under hood and under dash fuse boxes, and all of them were good.

As Switch stated above, the constant and switched 12v leads are both probably going to a switched power source. Meaning when you turn the car off, your cutting all power to the radio. The constant power wire needs to go to a constant source of power. That way there's always a power source to the radio that saves the time and presets, etc.

As for your dome light, is the bulb good ?

Yes, the dome lights will turn on when I turn the headlight **** all the way to the left, just not when I open the doors, as they should.

Are the switches in the doors bad?
