5th gear pop out problem
Just put the T5 back into my car after blowing second gear, trans shop that replaced the gear said everything else inside looked fine. All was fine until after going into 5th gear a few times. It was fine the first couple times and then it just started popping out. I put it into 5th, took my hand off the shifter and then once I released the clutch pedal the shifter would shoot back into the neutral position. Possibly installed something wrong? We had to reconnect the clutch cable to the pedal because it slipped off when we took out the trans, or maybe I put the shifter itself in poorly? It's and MGW short throw, clutch is close to brand new as well. Clutch does feel slightly different in the foot now though too after the reinstall. Any help is appreciated

You can try to adjust the stop on your shifter but I doubt thats what is causing the problem.
Reasons for 5th gear to kick out are
: Broken or missing shift fork pads
: Broken or bent shift fork
: Incorrect input bearing preload ( to sloppy )
: incorrect assembly of 5th gear synchro assembly.
Call the shop that did the repair on second gear, if it wasn't doing this before then they made an assembly error in the process of putting it back together.
If there was a worn component they should have caught it.
