Default 85 GT Question

I have an 85 5.0 HO, stock as far as i know . Heres my Question, When im doing ,say, 3500 rpm in second (30- 35 mph) my car will start "bucking". I tried to fix it by replacing the fuel filter, air filter, carp rotor wires and plugs. Worke for that day, but then right back to the same ol sh...... poop.

It will however pick right up and go if i press hard on the go button. Im at a loss. Any suggestions?

It could be a possible dead spot in the carb. I also have an 85 and mine does the same thing when i shift hard into 2nd gear. Im not sure how to fix it though or if that could be the problem. But good luck and hope u fix it.

Fix it with a Edelbrock Performer 289 intake and a Holley 600 Four Barrel Carb. That solved my problems but only made my gas mileage worse

well, i regapped my plugs, mad a minor difference. But (this seems weird to me) after i replaced the starter solenoid, it runs fine. Could it be that the solenoid was sticking and robbing power?

mine does the same thing, when i am going about 30 and really light on the gas. But just like you said... if you get into it, it wil stop bucking and take off. I haven't been able to find the cause either. I was actually thinking that it may have something to do with backlash in the drive train. I am putting in a new rear end from an 87 turbo coupe over the winter because the rear end is shot and vibrates on the highway (I know that sounds like u-joints but i check those already.) It would be great to know if anyone else has had this problem and fixed it.
